In a historic event within the Arab Parliament during its general session, a special tribute was bestowed upon the late cultural and peace advocate Abdulaziz Albabtain, who rendered exceptional services and left an unforgettable mark in the Arab and global arena. A recognition ceremony was held, blending both sorrow and pride, at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo.

The Arab Parliament, under the leadership of Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi, awarded the "Leadership Medal" in tribute to the late Abdulaziz Albabtain, whose persona shone as a symbol of poetry, culture, and literature, recognizing his continuous efforts to promote the values of just peace.

This recognition comes as a profound tribute to his cultural and literary legacy, acknowledging the remarkable efforts made by the late Abdulaziz Albabtain in serving the Arab region. He dedicated his life and resources to promoting culture, literature, and intercultural dialogue, fostering values of unity and Arab cooperation through soft power.

The President of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asoumi, stated that this commemorative occasion reflects the dedication and deep respect accorded to the late Abdulaziz Albabtain on both the Arab and global levels. It highlights the enduring legacy that will remain immortal in the memories of many individuals and institutions.

Al-Asoumi emphasized that the legacy of the late Abdulaziz Albabtain will continue to inspire and serve as a source of inspiration for current and future generations.

On his part, Saud Abdulaziz Albabtain, the son of the late Abdulaziz Albabtain, stated, "The recognition of my father by the Arab Parliament is an honor from 440 million Arabs represented by the Arab parliaments. It is a great privilege and an appreciation for the cultural and literary role that my father, may his soul rest in peace, played in the Arab and global context."

He expressed his gratitude for this initiative, which comes from an institution of great importance at both the popular and official levels, such as the venerable Arab Parliament.

And he affirmed that he feels immense pride and honor in receiving this recognition on behalf of his late father, may he rest in peace, and on behalf of the culture and literature to which his father dedicated his entire life in service.

He added, "My responsibility lies in continuing, after the passing of my father, to shed a light on culture and literature as a means of communication and positive impact on the Arab world."

He announced the launch of an annual award under the auspices of the Arab Parliament for creators of the Arabic language, bearing the name of his father, "May Allah bless his soul," with a value of 100,000 US dollars annually.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the late Abdulaziz Albabtain was honored, and his eldest son, Saud Abdulaziz Albabtain, was presented with the “Shield of the Arab Parliament” in recognition of his remarkable contributions and effective involvement in building a future that honors the Arab world.
