Kuwaiti Media Figure Calls for Immediate Implementation of The Hague Peace Forum Recommendations

Kuwaiti media personality, Iqbal Al-Ahmad, called today for the immediate implementation of all recommendations that will emerge from the World Forum for the Culture of Peace, especially concerning educational curricula.
Al-Ahmad stressed in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) the importance of presenting the Forum's recommendations by Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation to the Kuwaiti government, urging the government to adopt the principle of peace and teach it as a curriculum at all educational levels.
She said, "If we start today by teaching the principle of peace, combating extremism and terrorism, and preserving heritage, we will create a new generation convinced of this matter, and peace will become their norm."
She added, "The world has been in turmoil for years, with wars raging everywhere. Therefore, we are witnessing a great thirst from people around the world to achieve peace in all corners of the globe."
Al-Ahmad noted that this Forum reinforces the concept imposed by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Leader of Humanitarian Work, in establishing peace and achieving lasting security.
She stated that what Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation is doing confirms Kuwait's continuous leadership in spreading the culture of peace. Al-Ahmad expressed pride and honor in participating in this forum alongside political, academic, and cultural figures from various countries, all united under the principle of peace.
دعت الاعلامية الكويتية اقبال الاحمد اليوم الخميس الى تطبيق جميع التوصيات التي سيخرج بها المنتدى العالمي لثقافة السلام بشكل فوري لاسيما فيما يخص المناهج الدراسية.
واكدت الاحمد في تصريح لوكالة الانباء الكويتية (كونا) ضرورة ان تتقدم (مؤسسة عبدالعزيز سعود البابطين الثقافية الكويتية) بتوصيات المنتدى الى الحكومة الكويتية وان تتبنى الحكومة مبدأ السلام وتدريسه كمنهج في كل المراحل الدراسية.
وقالت انه "لو بدأنا اليوم بتدريس مبدأ السلام ومحاربة التطرف والارهاب والحفاظ على التراث سنصنع جيلا جديدا مقتنعا بالموضوع وستكون عادته هي السلام".
واضافت ان "العالم يعيش في تطاحن منذ سنوات والحروب مشتعلة في كل مكان ولذلك فإننا نشهد تعطشا كبيرا من قبل الشعوب لتحقيق السلام في جميع ارجاء العالم".
وذكرت ان هذا المنتدى يعزز المفهوم الذي فرضه حضرة صاحب السمو امير البلاد الشيخ صباح الاحمد الجابر الصباح حفظه الله ورعاه قائد العمل الانساني في ارساء السلام وتحقيق الامن الدائم.
وقالت ان ما تقوم به (مؤسسة البابطين) هو تأكيد على ريادة الكويت المستمرة في نشر ثقافة السلام. واعربت الاحمد عن الفخر والاعتزاز لوجودها في هذا المنتدى بجانب قامات سياسية واكاديمية وثقافية من مختلف دول العالم "اجتمعوا جميعا على مبدأ السلام".
