Mr. Seddiq Al-Mujtaba Muhammad Al-Amin

Born in Omdurman, Sudan, in 1954.

Belongs to the Al-Kutayyab family, renowned in Sudan for their dedication to Quran memorization.

Memorized what he could of the Holy Quran and received lessons in Arabic language principles during his stay with his grandfather, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Qadi Al-Kutayyabi, in Omdurman before joining formal education, at the age of seven.

Received his primary, secondary, and higher education in Omdurman.

Joined the University of Khartoum, Faculty of Agriculture, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree with honors, specializing in Horticultural Engineering in 1982.

Passed the equivalency exam to obtain a Master's degree in Arabization and Translation at the Graduate Studies College, University of Khartoum, in 1983-1984.

Worked as an agricultural engineer in the Investment Department at Faisal Islamic Bank after graduating from the university in 1982-1983.

Inclined towards the literary aspect throughout his life.

Served as the General Manager and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Dar Al-Aadaab wa Al-Funun Authorship, Translation and Publishing, 1983-1985.

Worked as the Director and founding member of Al-Sudani International Newspaper, 1985-1989.

Served as the Director General of Public Media Sector, 1989-1991.

Worked as the Secretary for Literature and Humanities at the National Corporation for Culture and Arts, 1991-1992.

Served as the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture and Information, 1993-1994.

Served as the Secretary for Arts and Deputy Secretary General of the National Corporation for Culture and Arts, 1994-1996.

Member of the National Council for Strategic Planning.

Worked as the Director General of “Taqanah” Telecommunications Technology Company, where he contributed to transferring information technology to Sudan, introducing the internet, distance learning system, and banking communications network (Sudan Cover), and expanding the television broadcasting coverage.

Appointed as a State Minister at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 2001-2003.

Appointed as a State Minister at the Ministry of Culture, 2003-2005.

Currently holds the position of Secretary General of the National Council for Culture and Arts.

Secretary-General of the Sudanese Writers and Authors Union (1996-2000).

Member of the Arab Writers Union.

Member of the Sudanese Arabic Language Academy, heading the Language and Computer Department.

Member of the Distance Education Committee at the Ministry of Higher Education.

Member of the National Strategic Planning Council.

Member of the Scientific Committee of Dar Al-Sharia.

Member of the African Channel Establishment Committee.

Editor-in-Chief of the Sudanese “Culture” Magazine (1994-2001).

Member of the Texts and Melodies Committee at the Sudanese Radio (1996-2000).

Founder of the "Ishraqa" Literary Seminar (1980).

Member of the Sudanese Journalists Union (1985-1989).

Founding Member of the Sudanese Press Club (1986).

Member of the Sudanese Television Board of Directors (1993-1995).

Founding Member of the Culture Support Fund.

Founding Member of Al-Furqan Radio.

Member of the National Committee for Education, Culture, and Science (UNESCO) in Sudan.

Member of the National Committee for the Development of Linguistic Ammunition.

Chairman of the Publishing Committee at the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports.

Member of the Permanent Cultural Committee for the Joint Arab-Latin American Meeting.

Member of the Board of Trustees of the Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Prize for Poetic Creativity (2005-2007).

Poet, writer, and critic with numerous published poetic and critical works and articles in the fields of thought, politics, literature, and sciences in magazines and scientific journals inside and outside Sudan.

Participated in numerous cultural conferences and festivals inside and outside Sudan.

Contributed to the formulation of the quarter-century strategy for the country.
