Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation has extended invitations to a select group of prominent Arab poets to participate in the twelfth edition of the Arab Poetry Spring Festival, which the Foundation will host in March at Albabtain Central Library for Arab Poetry in Kuwait.
The General Secretariat stated that this year's festival will feature renowned poets who hold a significant presence in the Arab poetry scene, and their names will be announced once the final arrangements for the festival are completed.
The General Secretariat mentioned that this year's festival program will differ, as it will focus primarily on poetry as a fundamental component of the event. In previous Arab Poetry Spring Festivals, the Foundation accompanied poetry with literary seminars and discussions, but for this year's edition, it has decided to concentrate on poetry and the diverse and distinguished poetic experiences of the participating poets.
The General Secretariat also highlighted that the Chairman of the Foundation, the poet Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain, stated that the Foundation organizes the Arab Poetry Spring Festival annually for two main reasons. Firstly, poetry has been an integral part of the Foundation's objectives since its establishment in 1989, and this approach has continued even after adding new goals, such as promoting peace in the world, as poetry is seen as a tool for peace.
Secondly, the festival coincides with the global celebration of the "World Poetry Day," which was previously endorsed by UNESCO.
