A Radiant Literary and Poetic Opening at the 19th Edition of the Albabtain Award

The 19th edition of the "Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation Award for Poetry Creativity" began its sessions on the first evening of the opening with a literary session titled "Abdulaziz Albabtain: Perspectives and Testimonials." The session started with Dr. Taher Hajjar from Algeria, who spoke on "Abdulaziz Albabtain: His Life and Legacy." Dr. Omar Al-Marrakchi from Morocco presented on "Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain: His Poetry and Collections," while Kuwaiti writer Abdulaziz Al-Sirayye’ spoke on "Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain: The Foundation and His Cultural Project." The session was expertly chaired by Dr. Abdullah Ibrahim from Iraq.
Poetic Events
Following that, the first poetic event of this edition commenced, featuring nine poets who participated in the first poetry evening of this version of the Foundation’s Awards Ceremony. The session was moderated and introduced to the audience by Dr. Mishaal Al-Harbi. The participating poets dazzled with their diverse poems, characterized by deep emotion and unique rhetorical imagery. Poet Ous Al-Fatihat from Iraq recited his poem titled "Children of Gaza," through which he conveyed the pulse of the human spirit. Additionally, the renowned poet Jassim Al-Sihayyih from Saudi Arabia dazzled the audience with his poems "The Traveler in Interpretations" and "A Romantic Map," taking listeners on a reflective journey through the world of poetry.
Poetess Jumana Al-Tarawneh from Jordan touched the audience’s emotions with her gentle verses in her poem "Opening," while the talented Algerian poetess Dr. Haneen Omar mesmerized everyone with her powerful expression and the smoothness of her verses, presenting a collection of traditional poems that ranged from themes of love to humanitarian and philosophical concerns.
It was the turn of Moroccan poet Khaled Boudraif, whose unique style captivated the audience with his poem "Similar to the Added." In an atmosphere of nostalgia and creativity, Syrian poet Mohamed Taha Othman recited his poem "Zamirs," leaving a distinctive mark in the minds of the audience.
The sweetness of poetry resonated with Mohamed Arab Saleh from Egypt, whose poem "Mim Image" infused philosophical depth into its verses. Kuwaiti poet Modhi Rahal inspired the audience with her heartfelt and melodious poem "Questions." The poetry evening concluded with the guiding figure of poetry, Iraqi poet Dr. Waleed Al-Sarraf, who brought the evening to a close with his poem "O Driver of the Camels," imbued with profound wisdom and life experience.
