The Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation will host an award ceremony next Sunday evening at the Albabtain Central Library for Arabic Poetry, where the winners of the "Diwan of Martyrs of Glory" competition will be honored. The event will be attended by diplomatic, intellectual, and cultural figures, along with distinguished guests. The first prize of $15,000 was awarded to the Algerian poet Mouhammad Ebbou for his poem “Chanting of the Wind's Drinker”. The second prize of $10,000 was awarded to the Yemeni poet Waddah Ali Hassir for his poem “A Homeland Praying in Hell”. The third prize of $5,000 was awarded to the Bahraini poet Ahmad Sayed Hashim for his poem “A Martyr Dyed with Roses”.

The Foundation formed a judging panel composed of five of the most prominent critics and academic experts from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, and Morocco, to review the poems submitted. The panel worked diligently for nearly three months to evaluate and rank the poems, assigning each one a score out of 100. The evaluations and scores ultimately led to the selection of the top three winning poems. Additionally, 712 poems were selected out of a total of 1,410 submissions from 1,246 poets representing 36 Arab and foreign countries. These selected poems will be included in a printed anthology comprising five volumes. This effort is part of the ongoing mission of the Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation to support poets and writers and to promote their national and humanitarian stances to poetry enthusiasts across the Arab world.

It is worth noting that this competition was launched by the late poet Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain on October 23 of last year, reflecting the steadfast principles he remained committed to throughout his life. May he rest in peace, he was always keen on initiating responsible and inspiring endeavors. He was the first to recognize the importance of documenting the "Al-Aqsa Flood" battle through poetry.
