The Lebanese artist Wala'a Al-Jundi presented a captivating musical evening titled "Sung Poems" with exquisite melodies that carried the essence of Arabic poetry. This event was part of the 18th edition of the Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation, held at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center.
Wala'a Al-Jundi, accompanied by the musical ensemble led by Maestro Dr. Mohamed Al-Aswad, performed a selection of songs, including poems written by the poet Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain. Among the notable pieces was the sung poem "I Will Not Forsake You," which secured the first place in the "Sung Poem" category at the fourth edition of Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Poetry Competition held in December of the previous year.
The musical performance also featured several songs from renowned vocalists of Arab music. This included "Ams Intahaina" by the iconic Fairuz, "Modhnak" by the maestro of generations, Mohamed Abdulwahab, as well as "Faat Al-Ma’ad" and "Alf Leila w Leila" by the legendary Umm Kulthum.
The stage of "Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center" witnessed a 90-minute musical journey with the vocalist Wala'a Al-Jundi. This enchanting performance was sufficient to open windows for the audience, allowing them to travel back to the era of beautiful melodies. Through a delightful selection of sung poems, the audience embarked on a nostalgic journey that harmoniously blended the authenticity of the past with the magic of music and poetry.
