Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation forms its new Board of Trustees, which includes a distinguished group of intellectuals from various parts of the world to align with the Foundation's mission of promoting culture and spreading knowledge.

         Albabtain: The Foundation aims to diversify its members to create a globally-oriented fabric that aligns with its mission of promoting and sustaining a culture of peace.

         Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation has announced the formation of its new Board of Trustees, which includes a distinguished group of academics and thinkers from both the Arab world and beyond. The Foundation stated that the eleventh cycle of the board will commence its activities from March 1st of the upcoming year until February 28th of the year 2025 (March 2023 - February 2025), succeeding the previous board's term.

The new composition of the board includes the following individuals:

1.   Mr. Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain (Kuwait) - President.

2.   Mr. Saud Abdulaziz Albabtain (Kuwait) - Vice President.

3.   Mr. Abdulrahman Khaled Albabtain (Kuwait) - Secretary-General.

4.   Dr. Rasheed Al-Hamad (Kuwait) - Former Minister of Higher Education and Former Ambassador of Kuwait to Cairo - Member.

5.   Dr. Raymond Farrin (USA)  - Professor of Arabic Literature at the American University of Kuwait - Member.

6.   Dr. Sebastian Heine (Germany) - Professor of Arabic Literature at the University of Bonn, Germany - Member.

7.   Dr. Tahir Hajjar (Algeria) - Former Minister of Higher Education in Algeria - Member.

8.   Dr. Abdelrahman Tenkoul (Morocco) - Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fes, Former President of ibn Tofail University - Member.

9.   Dr. Abdullah El-Tayawy (Egypt) - Former Vice President of Cairo University - Member.

10.        Dr. Abdulwahab Badrakhan (Lebanon/UK) - Journalist - Member.

11.        Dr. Lana Mamkagh (Jordan) - Former Minister of Culture in Jordan - Member.

12.        Dr. Leila Al-Sabban (Kuwait) - Professor of Arabic Literature at Kuwait University - Member.

13.        Dr. Mona Al-Maliki (Saudi Arabia) - Dean of the College of Arts at King Saud University - Member.

         The operations and cultural projects of the Foundation, including matters related to awards, formation of judging committees, and the approval of its outcomes, are managed through a Board of Trustees. This board comprises a select group of intellectuals and literary figures from the Arab world. Its activities are governed by specific regulations that have been established by the board's President.

         The Board of Trustees consists of the Secretary-General of the Foundation and at least nine members who are prominent literary figures from the Arab world. The board is chaired by Dr. Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain or his designated representative. The board convenes at least two meetings annually, typically in an Arab country chosen by the President. Special meetings can also be called upon when necessary.

         Dr. Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain, the President of the Board of Trustees, stated that the Foundation aims to diversify its members from various parts of the world in order to create a globally oriented fabric that aligns with its mission of promoting and sustaining a culture of just peace. The Foundation also strives to foster the growth of intercultural dialogue as an alternative to the clash of civilizations, alongside its ongoing commitment to poetry and the Arabic language. This necessitates further openness to different world cultures and the selection of minds that believe in dialogue among nations, rejecting conflicts and wars through culture.

         Mr. Abdulaziz Albabtain expressed his gratitude to the members of the previous board, commending their contributions to the Foundation during their tenure. He praised their unwavering efforts in achieving the intellectual goals that they played a crucial role in defining and realizing in practice.
