Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation announces the Names of the Winners of the Poetic Creativity Awards for the Year 2022.

The distinguished poet, Mr. Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain, has announced the names of the winners of the awards presented by the Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation in its eighteenth edition in the field of poetry and its critique. The awards encompass six categories: the Award for the Best Book in Poetry Critique, the Award for the Best Poetry Collection, the Award for the Best Poem, the Award for the Best Poetry Collection for Young Poets, the Award for the Best Poem for Young Poets, and an Honorary Award for Poetic Creativity. The decisions were made following the completion of the deliberations by the esteemed judging panels and the endorsement of their evaluations by the Foundation's Board of Trustees, as per the agreed-upon criteria.

In the category of the Best Book in Poetry Critique Award, with a value of $40,000 USD, the award was shared by two critics. Professor Moustafa Rajwan from Morocco was awarded for his book "Poetics and Discourse Harmony", alongside Dr. Ahmed Darwish from Egypt for his book "Reception of Poetry".

In the Best Poetry Collection category, valued at $20,000 USD, the award was granted to the poetess Rawdha Alhajj from Sudan for her collection "When My Words Rain".

The Best Poem Award, with a value of $10,000 USD, was claimed by poet Abdullah Amin Abushamis from Jordan for his poem "Raaheel".

The Best Poetry Collection award for Young Poets, valued at $10,000 USD, was bestowed upon poetess Alaa Alqattrawi from Palestine for her collection "A Waterwheel Trying to Sing".

In the category of Best Poem for Young Poets, with a value of $5,000 USD, the award was presented to poet Zaher Habbib from Yemen for his poem "A Fistful of Echoing Astonishment".

Additionally, for this edition, the Honorary Award, valued at $50,000 USD, was granted to poet Dr. Abdulaziz Khoja from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This award follows a distinct mechanism overseen by the Foundation's Chairman, the poet Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain, and is not subject to standard judging procedures.

The award received widespread participation from various parts of the Arab world, with the number of submissions exceeding 826 across the different categories of the award. The submissions included more than 56 entries for the Best Book in Poetry Critique category, 124 entries for the Best Poetry Collection category, and 341 entries for the Best Poem category. Additionally, the Best Poetry Collection for Young Poets category received 98 entries, while the Best Poem for Young Poets category saw the participation of 207 individuals.

Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation launched the eighteenth edition of the Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Poetry Creativity Award during the period from April to September 30, 2021.

In response, the Chairman of the Foundation, poet Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain, congratulated the winners of this edition's awards and regarded these awards as one of the Foundation's fundamental objectives. He added that the Foundation's primary mission is embodied in supporting poetry and the Arabic language to ensure that poetry (the Register of the Arabs) remains vibrant in the heart of the Arab nation, as it is a vital tributary of the Arabic language.
