The Emirati poet and writer, Habib Al-Saigh, has passed away.

He was the Editor-in-Chief of the UAE newspaper "Al Khaleej," as well as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Writers and Authors Union. He also held the position of Secretary-General of the General Union of Arab Writers and Authors.
Born Habib Youssef Abdullah Al-Saigh in Abu Dhabi in 1955, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy in 1977 and a Master's degree in Arabic-English Linguistics and Translation in 1998 from the University of London.
He had a distinguished career in both journalism and culture and contributed a daily column to "Al-Khaleej" newspaper. His literary contributions were recognized early on, and he participated in numerous Arab and international conferences and seminars.
His poetry was translated into English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Chinese.
In 2004, he was awarded the Trim Imran Prize in the category of journalism pioneers.
In 2006, the Journalists Association honored him as the first individual to serve 35 years in the national press.
In 2007, he was granted the State Appreciation Award in Literature, marking the first time it was awarded to a poet.
