Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation received with deep sadness and sorrow the news of the passing of Dr. Abdullah Al-Muhanna, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation and the former dean of the Faculty of Arts at Kuwait University.
The late Dr. Abdullah Al-Muhanna spent many years with the Foundation and served as an advisor to the Center for Dialogue among Civilizations, established by the Foundation since 2005. He devoted great efforts to this center and other activities of the Foundation, overseeing numerous publications, and his ideas were highly appreciated and welcomed by the members of the Board of Trustees, leaving a positive impact on the Foundation's journey.
Born in Kuwait in 1942, Dr. Abdullah Al-Muhanna earned his Ph.D. in Classical Arabic Poetry from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom in 1975. He worked as a professor in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at Kuwait University and chaired the department in 1979. He later became the Dean of the Faculty of Arts.
