April 20, 2019

The Chairman of Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation announced that the upcoming World Forum for the Culture of Peace, scheduled to be held on the 13th of June at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands, will be organized in collaboration with the International Peace Institute (IPI), Leiden University, and the International Red Cross.

Mr. Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain stated that the Forum's objectives, centered around promoting peace education to protect cultural heritage, will be presented in a comprehensive program during the Forum, which will take place at the Peace Palace of the International Court of Justice. The program will feature lectures by ministers and experts from various parts of the world, hosted by the Foundation. They will discuss how peace education can be integrated into post-conflict strategies in several countries, with the aim of establishing just and sustainable peace that can rebuild what wars have torn apart, both in terms of places and human lives. Furthermore, the program will address the importance of stability in the present and the future. The most pressing questions of the day will be addressed, including the role of the international community in protecting cultural heritage and the tangible projects that can be drawn to progress towards building a just and sustainable peace.

Through the presence of several world leaders and decision-makers at the Forum, the Foundation seeks to transform the culture of peace into a tangible scientific reality and find real solutions to current challenges that necessitate intellectual and cultural interventions to prevent further domination of war authority over other aspects of life, which have been neglected in recent years, leaving destruction and devastation as its legacy on humanity. Hence, it has become imperative to elevate the cultural efforts to fulfil its developmental and awareness role.
