Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation participated in the celebration of the World Academy of Poetry, held yesterday, Saturday (March 18, 2017) in Verona, Italy. This year's event was themed "Poetry as the Essence of the World: Identity and Traditions in Our Contemporary World."
As a partner in organizing the celebration, the Foundation invited several Arab poets to revive poetry evenings. The participating poets were Mashael Al-Zoaabi from Kuwait, Mohammed Ibrahim Yakoub from Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Al-Saqqali and Sabah Al-Dubi from Morocco, and Abdullatif Al-Saadi from Iraq. The celebration was attended by Dr. Touhami Abdouli, representing the Chairman of the Foundation, Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain, who had previously been honored by the World Academy of Poetry as its Honorary President.
This year's celebration held special significance in promoting dialogue between diverse cultures, as it welcomed intellectuals from five continents. The Academy also celebrated Japanese poetry, particularly the form known as "Nanka." The event featured poetic duels among the participating poets.
