Prof. Dr. Yusif Khulaif
Born in Egypt in 1923.
Obtained Bachelor of Literature, Department of Arabic Language and Eastern Languages from Fuad I University (currently Cairo University) with an excellent grade and first-class honors, in 1944.
Master of Literature with an excellent grade and first-class honors, in 1950.
Ph.D. in Literature with a very good grade, in 1956.
Worked as an editor at the Arabic Language Academy in Cairo (1950 - 1974).
Worked as Teaching assistant and then assistant professor in the Department of Arabic Language and Eastern Languages, Faculty of Arts, Cairo University (1950 - 1957).
Worked as Assistant Professor and then Professor of Arabic Literature (1962 - 1972).
Appointed Head of Department from the year 1975 until 1981.
Worked as a Full-time professor in 1983.
Appointed as a professor of Arabic literature at Kuwait University from the year 1968 until the year 1971.
Chairman of the Literary Studies Committee at the Supreme Council of Culture from 1980 until 1982.
Chairman of the Encouragement Awards Committee in Literary Studies at the Supreme Council of Culture, in the year 1981.
Member of the Encouragement Awards Committee for Poetry at the Supreme Council of Culture for multiple years until the year 1991.
Member of the Department of Arts in the Specialized National Councils from the year 1987.

In addition to numerous creative works, including "Call of the Peaks" (poetry collection, 1967) and "Locations of the Stars" (poetry collection, 1993).
Received the Scientific Research Award in Arts and a Certificate of Appreciation from Cairo University, in the year 1989.
Winner of the King Faisal International Prize in Arabic Literature, in the year 1990.
Received the State Appreciation Award in Literature from the Supreme Council of Culture, in the year 1993.
