His commitment to the organization and the youth it serves has helped numerous boys and girls find pathways to success. FCP also congratulates fellow honorees,\u00a0W. Rice was a youth member of the Boys & Girls Clubs in his hometown of Martinsburg, WV and was also honored this year with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Outstanding Achievement Award \u2013 Board Member of the Year as well as with the National Silver Medallion, which recognizes board members and volunteers who have provided outstanding and exemplary service to a Boys & Girls Club.<\/p>\n

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington\u00a0is to help boys and girls of all backgrounds, especially those that need us most, build confidence, develop character and acquire the skills needed to become productive, civic-minded, responsible adults.\u00a0Each year the\u00a0Youth in Real Estate event pays tribute to industry leaders, developers, and architects committed to strengthening the community by making significant contributions to youth and to Boys & Girls Clubs in the greater Washington region. Lacy Rice manages FCP\u2019s for-sale and for-rent residential acquisitions. Rice has 34 years of experience in real estate investment and corporate finance and serves on FCP\u2019s Investment Committee. Prior to founding FCP, he was a Principal at The Carlyle Group. He served on the company\u2019s real estate fund\u2019s Investment Committee. Prior to Carlyle, Rice worked at companies including Alex. Brown, Haas & Haynie Corporation and Chemical Bank. Rice is a member of the NMHC Affordable Housing Council and the Urban Land Institute. He serves on the Board of The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and is a former member of the Board of Shepherd University, the BB&T Advisory Board, and the Mercersburg Academy Alumni Council. Rice was Board Chairperson of American Community Properties Trust (NYSE: APO), a public real estate company FCP purchased and took private. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School and BA from Princeton University.<\/p>\n
